Virginia & Orestis – A loving wedding at St. George – Kavouri,(Athens)
All we need is love!
It is quite obvious from their wedding album -and their award winning wedding film- that Orestis and Virginia have all they need! That was something that we realized even before their wedding day, at their prewedding dinner party.
Prewedding dinner party with live music
A prewedding party few days before the wedding ceremony is always a good idea! It marks the begining of the wedding celebrations and sets the tone of the following days. It is even better if it takes place somewhere where the couple feels totally comfortable. Orestis and Virginia wisely chose to throw their prewedding event at their home. The couple welcomed some close friends and family for a more intimate prewedding celebration that included lovely moments at their beautifully decorated green garden and a well planned dinner party with live music. That was also the perfect opportunity for us –their wedding photographer and wedding cinematographer- to capture some relaxed but still precious moments of the couple. Without the stress of the wedding day, Orestis and Virginia were free to express their tenderness and love for each other.
The wedding preparations
Few days later, Virginia and Orestis had to be separated just for a while. Virginia was at her family home at Glyfada with her family and few friends. Orestis was also at Glyfada but at his family house with his parents, his brother, his best man and some friends. Both of them were getting ready for their special day.
The bride: Virginia
At Virginia’s family home, the girlfriends of the bride-to-be brought to her the wedding dress, her golden wedding shoes and the necessary bridal accessories while they were singing the wedding march. Virginia wore her super elegant wedding dress with the beautiful long sleeves and the bridal veil, all made of white lace, in a very emotional atmosphere. She shared a lot of hugs and some priceless moments that we captured, especially with her pregnant sister and with her lovely grandmother. When the makeup artist Elena Psoma and the hair stylist finished, Virginia was more beautiful than ever and ready to go downstairs to have bridal portraits and some more family pictures.
The groom: Orestis
Meanwhile, at Orestis family home, the atmosphere was relaxed. After some toasts over wine, it was time for the groom to get ready. His blue groom suit was made by G. Papadogamvros, known as the master of grooms suits. Orestis parents helped him to wear his matching blue bow tie, while other friends helped him to wear his cuff links and others his shoes. That dressing part was very emotional especially for the groom’s parents. Orestis was ready to meet his bride, so off to the church!
The Ceremony – St. George at Kavouri
Everything was ready at St. George at Kavouri. That picturesque church is one of the most popular churches of the south suburbs of Athens and not without reason. Its unique architecture with its white color reminds the well-known white churches of the Greek islands. Thus, many couples choose it for their wedding. The minimal decoration based on white flowers, the white carpet and the white candles next to the isle made the atmosphere even more beautiful and elegant.
When Virginia arrived even before she got out of the car at first look Orestis got very emotional and he couldn’t hold his tears. After a very emotional ceremony, the guests threw rice to the couple according to the Greek custom. Straight after that we didn’t lose time and we took the newly-weds to the all time classic spot for romance, at Lemos at Vouliagmenis. We had to catch the breathtaking view during the sunset! The scenery was unique! While the sun was diving into the sea we had the change to take some very romantic wedding photographs of the newly-weds.
The reception: Golf Prive Manor House at Glyfada
In the mean time, the guests were also enjoying a beautiful sunset by the sea. In particular, they had time to relax having a welcome drink at the beautiful garden of the luxurious Manor House reception hall at Glyfada. The whole venue was decorated with flowers in tones of white and beige and four big decorative letters spelled the world LOVE. The happy couple arrived with no delay. After a spontaneous dance, Orestis and Virginia joined their guest at the outdoor area talking and laughing. Once more we didn’t lose time and we not only took some classic family photographs but also some unconventional ones. Orestis’ brief but meaningful speech was the signal to hit the dance floor. A crazy and non-stop party started straight away! In every corner you could see happy people having a great time celebrating Orestis and Virginias love!
It is quite obvious from their wedding album, that Orestis and Virginia have all they need because they have each other. They have love and love is all we need!
Oresti and Virginia thank you again for the amazing moments that gave us not only joy but also an award winning wedding clip [Winner at the Bride Film Awards]!
