We met Dafni & Tobias on Skype. Dafni is Greek, Tobias Dutch and they live in Holland. Dafni’s parents are from Kea, a Greek island, and they couple decided to held their wedding there. Thursday morning we arrived in Kea full of energy and enthusiasm. Tobias was at the port welcoming guests and us.
The first stop was at their villa, Villa Andromeda, where the reception would take place the day after. A lovely complex with a main house and guesthouses, with two swimming pools just at the edge of the rocks, made the whole scenery look wonderful.
First day was spent meeting Dafni & Tobias’ friends and family in Koundouraki beach, where a crazy beach party was held till late in the evening. It was an amazing day, swimming, sunbathing, sand and water games, laughs and fun.

On the wedding day the bride’s and the groom’s preparations were in different houses at the villa. The bride with her friends was getting ready in a relaxed mode at the main house, with plenty of time for a portrait photo session with her maid of honor. The groom’s party was exactly the opposite. The boys were full of energy, working out and getting ready for swimming pool diving. Drinking beers, cocktails and having immense fun.
When finished with the family photos we headed from villa Andromeda to Agios Sostis in Otzias. Otzias is at the northeast part of Kea. It’s one of the largest beaches with clear blue shallow waters, golden sand and thick trees. Agios Sostis is a small traditional whitewashed church with panoramic view of the Aegean Sea. The decoration was simple, wild Greek flowers and bougainvillea, fresh cherries in baskets, canvas pots with rice, consisted some of the well arranged decoration details. A group of folk musicians escorted the bride at the lovely church by her father’s side. Tobias was excited waiting for Dafni. In a gentleman’s manner gave Dafni her bouquet, hugged his father in law and all of them started walking among family and friends. Tobias looked so proud having Dafni by his side.
The orthodox ceremony, which was held outside in the yard of the small church, was enjoyed by everyone. The setting was ideal, filled with the young couple’s love’s positive energy. The ceremony ended with the couple leaving in a blue mini moke making noise. Plenty of time for the guests to relax and have a coffee in a cafeteria before the reception, 2 hours later in villa Andromeda, and for us to get the family photos and a private photo session with the couple and their friends in a wonderful spot.
At sunset the couple returned to villa Andromeda for the wedding party. People from all over the world were celebrating, eating, drinking, dancing and wishing the newlyweds a happy life ahead. While partying, the best man came to us and told us “In 5 minutes Tobias will be in the pool. Please don’t miss it”. Waiting to catch the moment, we were surprised not only by the groom but from the bride and most of their friends as well, who carried and continued the party into the swimming pool. A truly wonderful experience for all of us. We were really delighted meeting all these amazing people. That day was everything Tobias and Dafni have been dreaming of.

Like having your friends take your wedding pictures…fantastic!
Both Dimitra and Michail are absolutely lovely people that made us feel very comfortable around them.
They somehow manage to become part of the party and be right in the thick of it without ever being intrusive.
We love the pictures they made as they capture the smiles and emotions of us and our guests.
Just the perfect way to remember our special day!
